Story –

Grant Michael Allport, born and raised in Whyalla, an industrial town in South Australia. As a child he grew with a love and passion to be a singer and song writer inspired by artists such as Glen Campbell, Elton John, Smokie, Pilot, Dragon, John Paul Young, Sherbet, Little River Band, Fleetwood Mac, Bee Gees, ABBA, Cheap Trick, A-Ha, Christopher Cross, The Doobie Brothers and Creedence Clearwater Revival to name a few.

As a teenager Grant’s passion grew to include Pop/Rock and Heavy Metal artists such as INXS, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Van Halen and ACDC.

Towards the end of high school Grant was invited to join a band, latter to become a Gospel band ‘Sign’ as a bass guitarist. This included a passion for Gospel artists such as Keith Green, Cliff Richard, and Amy Grant.

To pursue his music interests, Grant applied for an electrical apprenticeship with BHP Whyalla Steel Manufacturing. He was successful and began buying home studio equipment and instruments to inspire his writing.

As an adult Grant’s music collection grew to include artists such as Sting, Phil Collins, John Farnham, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, Yes, The Corrs, Michelle Branch, Simple Minds, U2, Duran Duran, Toto, Savage Garden, Killing Heidi, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Celine Dion and Crowded House.

In current years Grant’s music collection has grown to include artist such as Coldplay, Missy Higgins, Empire Of The Sun, Birdy, SugaBabes, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Jessica Mauboy, Sarah Brightman, Marc Anthony and Jewel to name a few.

At the age of 18, Grant became a Spirit Filled Christian with the Bible evidence of speaking with other tongues, fellowshipping with the Whyalla Revival Fellowship.

Grant’s music interests began to include instrumental artists such as Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre, Deep Forest, Andreas Vollenweider, Enya, Yanni, Vangelis and Secret Garden.

Grant formed a recording studio partnership with friend Darren McDougall and composed the Debut Album ‘The Dream’, mixed my Darren McDougall. Latter the partnership split to pursue own interests. They are still very good friends and share their thoughts on each other’s projects with their own home studios.

Grant currently prefers modern commercial, Pop and EDM music for its digital creativity with rhythm and good melody. Lyrics don’t offend him as he only hears melody and not words, as a voice is an instrument to him. Grant doesn’t hear the story in a song and never really ever did as it’s all about the music for him.

Over the past many years Grant has developed his home studio to compose and release his music creations. Grant composes on keyboard and can play guitar and drums.

Grant has published rhythmic, melodic instrumental albums that get placed in the ‘NewAge’ genre. As a Christian Grant decided to compose instrumental music to avoid lyrical offences to anyone, and still enjoy the rhythm and melody he appreciates in music.

Grant has written some Gospel songs but has not yet recorded any. He feels making money from spreading the Gospel is a little off. He may give it a shot someday.

Grant finds the ‘NewAge’ genre makes it difficult for his music to be discovered as most of the content is closer to relaxation or moderate to slow formats. Grant’s music is a bit more entertaining rhythmically than most ‘NewAge’ compositions. Hence hoping to get discovered has composed three ‘Relaxation’ albums to publish in genre ‘NewAge/Relaxation & Meditation’.

Grant devotes a lot of time in researching and practicing Mixing and Mastering of music to release commercially comparative products. ‘Produce Like A Pro™’ and ‘Pensado’s Place’ has been most helpful in developing a skill set that brings results.

Grant's catalogue includes:

NewAge (Rhythmic):
